11/24 blog

Today in class we had presented our ISIS solutions. We had been working on these for two class periods and presented on the third. Our group had not presented our idea yet, since we did not have enough time. We will present our idea on Tuesday during first mod first thing in the morning. The presentations that were presented with group's ideas on how to solve this ISIS Crisis (That rhymed). There were many good ideas on how to stop this issue, and some even great. What surprised me was that there was a group which had three different ideas, how they got the time to complete all three of the ideas I'll never know. It was a good way to get us aware of the problems with ISIS and Syria which are currently going on.

The ISIS Crisis

First we should spend time tracking and communicating with other countries where all immigrants have been moved to. I feel the United States should also stop the flow of penises and  stop the flow of some communication. The government of Syria and countries around it has to help. By cutting off ISIS from its money, supplies, additional fighters, weapons, and essential equipment, we could begin to learn more about location and information about them. They would begin to suffer.  Without constantly providing weapons, ammunition, and fuel, ISIS and other groups would quickly lose their tactical capabilities. I think every country should have a certain number of special troops they have to put in Iraq and Syria. Each Country should at least put in 5,000 special forces troops with increased air power. We should also tighten up security in major U.S. cities and other Major cities in the world. Every immigrant or refugee from the middle east should be background checked at least twice before entering a country's border. If we shut down the borders in Syria and Iraq and keep ISIS contained then they could not spread as fast. Either way it will be hard to fight a difficult enemy  but with the right precautions we can stop them. Attacks linked to ISIS targeting civilians in 2015, outside Iraq and Syria Circles represent number of deaths. We could or rather social media should take down any type of Isis material that sends a bad message or encourages violence in any way because they often use to these to send messages. Twitter has actually done a good job with this as they successfully remove 2000 accounts but there are still many types of social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook that could do more. We can get the allied force of countries like France and Russia, who are both mad at ISIS and would help us defeat them. France being especially mad at them with the terrorism acts in Paris that happened last week.Today, China has vowed to bring justice to ISIS for killing a chinese hostage. With more people dying and more countries joining, what country will join the U.S. coalition to stop.

How to solve the refugee problem:

If a refugee wants to enter Europe, they must have the proper documentation to cross the borders. They must have reasonable documentation and non tourism backgrounds. Every country should have checkpoints where refugees must check in to cross the next border. But if more and more ISIS fighter are hiding among refugees than we should close all the borders and not let the refugees in.

We think we should keep air striking ISIS with ground forces helping identify targets. We should also stop the flow of immigrants and  stop the flow of there resources. I think every country should have a certain number of troops they have to put in Iraq and Syria. We should tighten up security in major U.S. cities and other Major cities in the world. If we shut down the borders in Syria and Iraq and keep ISIS contained then they could not spread as fast. Either way it will be hard to fight a difficult enemy. We have to produce a mass raid on the ISIS land, and send troops from every nation to different sections of Islam, and take it over to end the ISIS crisis. We can send special teams to go to ISIS and blow up places where ISIS will store all their supplies. We also need to cut off their oil supply.

11/17 blog

Today in class we had went over the classwork we had done last Thursday. We discussed the questions, then we supplied the answers. We also watched a video about Syria. The video showed the faces and the emotion of a little girl through the Syrian bombings. It started off as her birthday, and from that point each clip was getting more intense. Where she had been living had started being bombed and forced her family away. It showed clips of her escaping from her home, and fleeing somewhere else with her family. It finally ended with her in what was probably a bomb shelter celebrating her birthday, which had shown a year had passed. It also said at the end something like "It may not be happening here, but it is happening somewhere." We don't have as big as problems as this in America, but in Syria the problem is huge and we don't understand the amount of suffering that people in Syria go through with their own leader bombing them.

The five religions by percentage are:

Christianity: 31.4%
Hinduism: 15%
Buddhist: 7.1%
Islam and Judaism: 0.8% (Labeled as other)

The article on Wikipedia described Abraham being respected in three religions, Christianity, Judaism and Islam. He is known as the founding father of the covenant in Judaism. Also in Christianity, Paul talks about Abraham's religion and such.

"A way to reduce the amount of punishment one has to undergo for sins" is a quote I got for Indulgence. From my own personal knowledge of the subject, the Catholic Church was selling Indulgences claiming that you will be forgiven to an extent if you buy this Indulgence. Martin Luther had disagreed with this, because selling Indulgences was unholy. To be forgiven, you have to have spoken to God for yourself, not buying a piece of paper from the Catholic church claiming you are forgiven. I had researched this on Wikipedia to verify my knowledge of the subject was correct. I also agree with Martin Luther on this, being that you shouldn't be able to buy forgiveness, instead earning it by talking to God.

The Haji is an honorific term given to people who have completed the Haji to Mecca. It is pretty much a pilgrimage journey. The name Haji is put before anyone who has completed it, as for example Haji Justin.

The four types of Vedas:

The Rigveda: The Rigveda Samhita is the oldest Indic text. It is a collection of over a thousand Vedic Sanskrit Hymns and over ten thousand verses in all.

Samaveda: This book is made up of 1,549 Stanzas, practically all taken from the Rigveda. There are two sections, one being four melody collections, and the other are three verses books.

Yajurveda: This book consists of prose mantras. It's a bundle of ritual offerings formulas that were said by a priest while and individual performed actions such as those before the Yanja fire.

Athara: A text belonging to the Atharvan and Angirasa poets. Contains a lot of hymns.

11/9 blog

Today in class we were going over a slideshow of big religions. The one we discussed was Christianity. Christianity was, of course, founded by Jesus. There are many types of denotations of Christianity we talked about. Catholic was the major denotation, with most of Europe and mainly all of Mexico being Catholic. Another type is being Lutheran, Protestant, and Baptist. Personally, I am a Lutheran. The Lutheran church was founded by Martin Luther who had disagreed with the Catholics church, and nailed a paper with his disagreements on the door. This wasn't read, so Martin Luther went off to create his own church separate from the Catholics.  We also talked about another Religion, which was Hinduism. Hinduism is a major religion in India, and other places. It is one of the most popular religions, and it has a lot of people who believe in Hinduism.

11/10 blog

In class today we started going over the major religions of the world. We went over five of them in class, and discussed facts about them. The first religion was Christianity, and we discussed the denotations of that and how it came to be. Then we had talked about Islamic, and then today mainly was Buddhism. Today we spent most of our time going over on how Buddhism came to be. It was invented by a prince who had been kept in from the world by his rich family. He wanted to explore, and set out from his rich kingdom to find balance. He was fasting and such to gain the key to life. While meditating under a tree, the idea finally came to him and thus came Buddhism as well. There are also denotations of Buddhism, being Zen Buddhism the one referred to in class.

11/6 blog

Today in class we went over our tests. The class average wasn't very good though. It was a 78.8, with the other class having a 79.7 and the honors having an 84.0. The fun part was that we proved you wrong and gained an extra three points. I got that question wrong so it was pretty helpful towards me and I boosted my grade up. I didn't do as well as I thought on the test, but I didn't completely slaughter it. We also learned about how we have mid quarters and our six test we have to take and how we are going to do them and where. The test was on the NOVA video we watched in class which took up about a good four classes to finish. We kept taking notes on the video and we were able to use the blog on the test.

11/5 blog

Today in class we took a test on the NOVA video we had watched. The test was pretty easy, and It didn't take long for me to finish it. There were questions involving TFR and population. The three choices were Japan, India, and Africa. After the 10 minutes it took to complete it, I took a nap on the table for the rest of the period. Though it was not comfortable, it was do able for me to kill the rest of the time left in the period. Also, being that it was first mod, I was still tired from waking up. I'm pretty sure I passed the test.

11/5 blog

Today in class all we pretty much did was review for the test tomorrow. The test is on the NOVA video and it sounds pretty easy. We had asked questions from our notes the whole period and we had to answer this with USA, India, Japan or Africa. There were questions like TFR and population questions. There's not really much else I can explain about the class. The video was pretty educational about the problems in India. It explained the abortion problems, and in Japan, it explained how the population is going to decrease majorly and there will be little youth in Japan. I'm typing this sentence just to get more words.

11/2 blog

Today in class we discussed over our notes. We had taken notes on Japan India and Africa from a video we had watched on Nova. The video was made in 2004 so that information recorded is kind of irrelevant to modern day information because of the new technology in the places. The video was 56 minutes long and felt like forever to complete it. We then watched an inspiration video about animals doing idiotic things. It was quite weird, and I don't think anyone understood it. There was a bear, a cow, and a goat all dancing around. I felt inspired from that.
