12/11 Blog

Today in class we had taken a test on world leaders. There were twelve world leaders we had to study and answer questions about. Some of the questions were tricky, while some others we quite obvious. I had studied for about 12 minutes from the notes and the power point. We had been allowed our blogs to help us with the test. I had a lot of notes on the world leaders and I also had that blog from the project we did on the world leaders of the countries. That helped me out a lot because I had trouble with names and spelling of the names for some and I could just look on my blog and get the names. There was also an extra credit I had gotten right, which was about Donald Trump visiting Israel, which boosted my grade five points which is nice.

David William Donald Cameron was born October 9, 1966 and he became the youngest british Prime minister in almost 200 years. After graduating college, David Cameron worked for a consecutive Party’s research. He remained with this job for five years. In 1991 Cameron began briefing then-prime Minister John Major, with the following year being promoted to special adviser to the Chancellor of the Exchequer Norman Lamont. In 1994, Cameron had left politics to work at a cooperation of at Carlton Communications, which was a British Media Company. In 2001 he had resigned from that job to continue his journey to win the Parliamentary seat, which he won, representing the Oxfordshire town of Witney. After the 2005 elections, David Cameron was declared the leader of the Conservative Party. This victory was caused by a vow he had made to inspire a new generation. He wanted people to “feel good about being Conservatives again.”. Cameron had decided to run for Prime Minister after the previous Prime Minister, Gordon Brown, had resigned. Cameron had won the job of Prime Minister. At the time Cameron became the prime minister, he was 43 years old, and he had become the youngest Prime Minister since 1812. One of the first actions Cameron had made was making a pact with Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg. This was a move that had resulted in the first coalition government since World War Two.

Cameron had commented with this move by saying “I believe it is the right way to provide this country with the strong, the stable, the good and the decent government that I think we need so badly.”. Three years before the coalition government, Cameron had hired Andy Coulson, who had been a former editor of the tabloid ‘News of the World. He had hired Coulson to be his director of communications. While the phone hacking scandal was building, Coulson had proved to be an early casualty in 2011. The result of this exposed a bunch of elite politicians, press and police. In December of 2012, Cameron had proposed to make treaty changes in the European Union. This won him popular support, but is deeply irritated Liberal Democrat leader Clegg. Cameron had made the decision, in this change, to securing concessions on, and exemption from the EU financial markets regulation as the price of his assent to the German-led euro salvation blueprint. Other countries had balked, with France being the most vocal. France had accused Cameron of putting Britain’s perceived interests ahead of resolving the EU’s worst crisis. Cameron had eventually failed to gain the concessions, and Britain had also forfeited its place at the table where Europe’s future and the new euro regime will be determined. For the first time since Britain had joined the European Community in 1973, a treaty that goes the the heart of how the EU works will be made without having a British Signature. As of now, David Cameron still serves as Prime Minister and is currently on his second term.

Today in class we had started a new unit and starting taking notes. We were taking notes on Culture. The notes we took were on stuff about soda. We had a discussion on how people from different places will call soda different things. For example, people up north like Massachusetts will call soda 'pop'. Here in Maryland we call it soda. Also in a place like Florida it is diverse of what it is called because actual people from Florida call it Soda, but there is a percentage of people who will call it pop. This is because there are people from Massachusetts are retiring and when's it's cold up there, they will go down to Florida to relax, causing them to call it what they get a soda, they'd say pop. Also, I'm not sure which state or states it was, but there is a state in America that will call soda "Fizzy water" which is really weird.

Today in class we had finished our presentations. Two groups had presented today. One of the groups was us. We had gone first. It was the first thing we had done all day so I was still pretty tired. I thought that our presentation had gone pretty well, and nothing had been messed up. The rest of the class we practically doing nothing because we didn't have enough time to start something else. Our presentation was about the ISIS problem and how we can solve it. We had provided different ways to solve this, with personally my favorite being the back round check. Our solutions we're good and reasonable and each of our four ideas were practical and excellent. There were also other good ideas too, some better than ours and some worse than ours. It was a fun project to do.

Today in class we had presented our ISIS solutions. We had been working on these for two class periods and presented on the third. Our group had not presented our idea yet, since we did not have enough time. We will present our idea on Tuesday during first mod first thing in the morning. The presentations that were presented with group's ideas on how to solve this ISIS Crisis (That rhymed). There were many good ideas on how to stop this issue, and some even great. What surprised me was that there was a group which had three different ideas, how they got the time to complete all three of the ideas I'll never know. It was a good way to get us aware of the problems with ISIS and Syria which are currently going on.

The ISIS Crisis

First we should spend time tracking and communicating with other countries where all immigrants have been moved to. I feel the United States should also stop the flow of penises and  stop the flow of some communication. The government of Syria and countries around it has to help. By cutting off ISIS from its money, supplies, additional fighters, weapons, and essential equipment, we could begin to learn more about location and information about them. They would begin to suffer.  Without constantly providing weapons, ammunition, and fuel, ISIS and other groups would quickly lose their tactical capabilities. I think every country should have a certain number of special troops they have to put in Iraq and Syria. Each Country should at least put in 5,000 special forces troops with increased air power. We should also tighten up security in major U.S. cities and other Major cities in the world. Every immigrant or refugee from the middle east should be background checked at least twice before entering a country's border. If we shut down the borders in Syria and Iraq and keep ISIS contained then they could not spread as fast. Either way it will be hard to fight a difficult enemy  but with the right precautions we can stop them. Attacks linked to ISIS targeting civilians in 2015, outside Iraq and Syria Circles represent number of deaths. We could or rather social media should take down any type of Isis material that sends a bad message or encourages violence in any way because they often use to these to send messages. Twitter has actually done a good job with this as they successfully remove 2000 accounts but there are still many types of social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook that could do more. We can get the allied force of countries like France and Russia, who are both mad at ISIS and would help us defeat them. France being especially mad at them with the terrorism acts in Paris that happened last week.Today, China has vowed to bring justice to ISIS for killing a chinese hostage. With more people dying and more countries joining, what country will join the U.S. coalition to stop.

How to solve the refugee problem:

If a refugee wants to enter Europe, they must have the proper documentation to cross the borders. They must have reasonable documentation and non tourism backgrounds. Every country should have checkpoints where refugees must check in to cross the next border. But if more and more ISIS fighter are hiding among refugees than we should close all the borders and not let the refugees in.

We think we should keep air striking ISIS with ground forces helping identify targets. We should also stop the flow of immigrants and  stop the flow of there resources. If we shut down the borders in Syria and Iraq and keep ISIS contained then they could not spread as fast. Either way it will be hard to fight a difficult enemy. We have to produce a mass raid on the ISIS land, and send troops from every nation to different sections of Islam, and take it over to end the ISIS crisis. We can send special teams to go to ISIS and blow up places where ISIS will store all their supplies. We also need to cut off their oil supply.

11/17 blog

Today in class we had went over the classwork we had done last Thursday. We discussed the questions, then we supplied the answers. We also watched a video about Syria. The video showed the faces and the emotion of a little girl through the Syrian bombings. It started off as her birthday, and from that point each clip was getting more intense. Where she had been living had started being bombed and forced her family away. It showed clips of her escaping from her home, and fleeing somewhere else with her family. It finally ended with her in what was probably a bomb shelter celebrating her birthday, which had shown a year had passed. It also said at the end something like "It may not be happening here, but it is happening somewhere." We don't have as big as problems as this in America, but in Syria the problem is huge and we don't understand the amount of suffering that people in Syria go through with their own leader bombing them.

The five religions by percentage are:

Christianity: 31.4%
Hinduism: 15%
Buddhist: 7.1%
Islam and Judaism: 0.8% (Labeled as other)

The article on Wikipedia described Abraham being respected in three religions, Christianity, Judaism and Islam. He is known as the founding father of the covenant in Judaism. Also in Christianity, Paul talks about Abraham's religion and such.

"A way to reduce the amount of punishment one has to undergo for sins" is a quote I got for Indulgence. From my own personal knowledge of the subject, the Catholic Church was selling Indulgences claiming that you will be forgiven to an extent if you buy this Indulgence. Martin Luther had disagreed with this, because selling Indulgences was unholy. To be forgiven, you have to have spoken to God for yourself, not buying a piece of paper from the Catholic church claiming you are forgiven. I had researched this on Wikipedia to verify my knowledge of the subject was correct. I also agree with Martin Luther on this, being that you shouldn't be able to buy forgiveness, instead earning it by talking to God.

The Haji is an honorific term given to people who have completed the Haji to Mecca. It is pretty much a pilgrimage journey. The name Haji is put before anyone who has completed it, as for example Haji Justin.

The four types of Vedas:

The Rigveda: The Rigveda Samhita is the oldest Indic text. It is a collection of over a thousand Vedic Sanskrit Hymns and over ten thousand verses in all.

Samaveda: This book is made up of 1,549 Stanzas, practically all taken from the Rigveda. There are two sections, one being four melody collections, and the other are three verses books.

Yajurveda: This book consists of prose mantras. It's a bundle of ritual offerings formulas that were said by a priest while and individual performed actions such as those before the Yanja fire.

Athara: A text belonging to the Atharvan and Angirasa poets. Contains a lot of hymns.

11/9 blog

Today in class we were going over a slideshow of big religions. The one we discussed was Christianity. Christianity was, of course, founded by Jesus. There are many types of denotations of Christianity we talked about. Catholic was the major denotation, with most of Europe and mainly all of Mexico being Catholic. Another type is being Lutheran, Protestant, and Baptist. Personally, I am a Lutheran. The Lutheran church was founded by Martin Luther who had disagreed with the Catholics church, and nailed a paper with his disagreements on the door. This wasn't read, so Martin Luther went off to create his own church separate from the Catholics.  We also talked about another Religion, which was Hinduism. Hinduism is a major religion in India, and other places. It is one of the most popular religions, and it has a lot of people who believe in Hinduism.

11/10 blog

In class today we started going over the major religions of the world. We went over five of them in class, and discussed facts about them. The first religion was Christianity, and we discussed the denotations of that and how it came to be. Then we had talked about Islamic, and then today mainly was Buddhism. Today we spent most of our time going over on how Buddhism came to be. It was invented by a prince who had been kept in from the world by his rich family. He wanted to explore, and set out from his rich kingdom to find balance. He was fasting and such to gain the key to life. While meditating under a tree, the idea finally came to him and thus came Buddhism as well. There are also denotations of Buddhism, being Zen Buddhism the one referred to in class.

11/6 blog

Today in class we went over our tests. The class average wasn't very good though. It was a 78.8, with the other class having a 79.7 and the honors having an 84.0. The fun part was that we proved you wrong and gained an extra three points. I got that question wrong so it was pretty helpful towards me and I boosted my grade up. I didn't do as well as I thought on the test, but I didn't completely slaughter it. We also learned about how we have mid quarters and our six test we have to take and how we are going to do them and where. The test was on the NOVA video we watched in class which took up about a good four classes to finish. We kept taking notes on the video and we were able to use the blog on the test.

11/5 blog

Today in class we took a test on the NOVA video we had watched. The test was pretty easy, and It didn't take long for me to finish it. There were questions involving TFR and population. The three choices were Japan, India, and Africa. After the 10 minutes it took to complete it, I took a nap on the table for the rest of the period. Though it was not comfortable, it was do able for me to kill the rest of the time left in the period. Also, being that it was first mod, I was still tired from waking up. I'm pretty sure I passed the test.

11/5 blog

Today in class all we pretty much did was review for the test tomorrow. The test is on the NOVA video and it sounds pretty easy. We had asked questions from our notes the whole period and we had to answer this with USA, India, Japan or Africa. There were questions like TFR and population questions. There's not really much else I can explain about the class. The video was pretty educational about the problems in India. It explained the abortion problems, and in Japan, it explained how the population is going to decrease majorly and there will be little youth in Japan. I'm typing this sentence just to get more words.

11/2 blog

Today in class we discussed over our notes. We had taken notes on Japan India and Africa from a video we had watched on Nova. The video was made in 2004 so that information recorded is kind of irrelevant to modern day information because of the new technology in the places. The video was 56 minutes long and felt like forever to complete it. We then watched an inspiration video about animals doing idiotic things. It was quite weird, and I don't think anyone understood it. There was a bear, a cow, and a goat all dancing around. I felt inspired from that.

10/29 blog

Today in class we finished the video. Pretty much the whole video was summing up the problems in Japan, India and Africa. In Japan, the problem Is that the population is going down. This is due to the problem of there are so many seniors living in Japan. There are not enough children too keep the population number high. In India, the problem are the births and abortions. Most women don't want many children, but they are forced to because of their husband wanting a boy. If they get a sonogram of the baby and it is a girl, they may chose to abort it. Finally in Africa, aids is a major problem. It is spread by prostitution throughout people causing the disease to spread throughout Africa. They also have economic problems with raising kids and deaths in the family.

10/28 Blog

Today in class we continued watching the video. We learned about how in India people of young age are being forced to take care of their families. There was a young lady in the video who was about 16 years old, and she was forced to take care of her family, all five of them. Their parents had died, and so she was the eldest and she had to take over. HIV Aids is very common in India. Many people get it from other people. Prostitution is a main way of getting the disease everywhere. The lady I was talking about before had to get into prostitution in order that she would be able to help her family out because no one would hire her. Eventually, she got HIV Aids, and had the break the news to her family. She would most likely not survive from this.

10/27

Today in class we continued watching the video on population and birth rates. In India, children are being forced too live in harsh environments. Abortions are a big problem in India, with the sonar doctors telling whether the baby is a boy or a girl. This means that if the baby is a girl, and she hasn't been born yet, odds are the baby will be aborted.

A problem in Japan, is that the rate of age is one out of every three person in Japan as of the moment, are seniors. This means that the population is going to keep decreasing unless this is changed.

10/26 Blog

Today in class we watched a video on Japans population and birth rates in India. Firstly, in Japan, school enrollment is way down, being that in the video a boys class was just him since kindergarten. It was also noted that 1/3 of everyone living in Japan is currently a senior. This is not good for Japan, since they're population will be just decreasing.

In India, every woman is expected to bear at least six children. This is because of two reasons: One is that the husband of the woman will usually want to have a least two or three boys. This is because in the Indian culture the boy will grow up to take care of his family and so on with the boys son. The second reason is due to children dying. In India currently, 1/10 children live to the age of five. So if a family has a boy, and only one boy, if he dies at the age of five and the mother cannot conceive any more children, they will not have someone to take care for them in their old age. Conceiving a girl is also bad to the husbands, being that if they have too many girls, he will often beat or burn the woman for not bearing a boy, which is not her fault.

Extra Credit Blog

Kiva is a non profit organization which helps out people who are in need of money. You donate money (25 or more dollars) and then you will get repaid. So if I were to donate to someone on Kiva who needed the money, I would donate then get repaid some time later. It's practically like a bank funding loans.

I researched two members on Kiva and this is what I found:

Jean Marie Vinney:

He is an entrepreneur in south Africa who owns a milk collection. He needs  14,500 dollars to help fund a truck to increase the capability of milk at his center. If he gets this truck, he will be able to distribute three times the amount of milk he does currently without the truck. As of right now, he is 36% done with his needed loan to be able to buy the truck.

Ronald:

Ronald is a small farmer who needs 600 dollars to be able to buy himself a motorcycle. He is married with five children and does lots of farm work. Without the motorcycle, it is hard for him to go to markets and such because of his poor transportation. With the motorcycle, he will be able to go to markets to help support his farm work.

Kive is a very helpful site for people in need. This site helps people all around the world to improve their life and daily activities. From milk collector to needing a vehicle to get around. Everything Kiva does it helpful towards the people requesting loans. It is a safe website to be able to donate around the world. You will practically always get your loan money back from the people you have loaned too, so your pretty much losing no money what so ever. Kiva is a very good idea with very good intentions.

10/21 blog

Today in class all we pretty much did was go over the test. I didn't do as well as I had hoped but it wasn't awful. I had messed up on figuring out what the GDP is. Now I know that GDP stands for Gross Domestic Product and is the broadest quantitative measure of a nation's total economic activity. Also, Gross Domestic Product represents the monetary value of all goods and services produced within a nation's borders over a specified period of time. I had also some trouble finding some of the answers from the CIA world fact book like for example Canada's oil. Another one was United States education. It was difficult, but I feel although I could have studied the CIA world fact book more than I did.

In class today we watched a video on the Newsroom. It had talked about how this anchor to a news program was invited to a political show. They had been discussion political things, when the anchor was then asked in two words to describe America being the best country. He began talking about how America is not the greatest country, giving examples of facts. He had said that America was number one in the world for only four things, none of them being positive. One of them was that we have the greatest number and percentage of criminals jailed. America can still need improving, and personally I agree America is not the greatest country at the moment.

We then began going over our homeworking and asking questions based off of the homework we had. We had to go through the C.I.A fact book to get out answers to the questions.

10/5 blog

Today in class we looked at a website with a ton of information on it about the whole world and it's countries. It had all the countries and offered a vast ton of information towards whatever country you wanted to look at. We looked at places like Germany and the U.S. For example, through the website you can find out how many people are currently living there. You can also find out the percent of English speaking people in the U.S, Spanish speaking people in the U.S, and so on throughout all the other countries. We also saw a huge list of all the countries in the world and how they are doing with people coming in and people coming out. The United States was around the 30's, with us getting a lot of legal and illegal immigrants. Without them, our number on the list would definitely be lowered. Most places on the bottom of the list were there because of wars and people wanted to leave to find a safe haven elsewhere. It was a very resourceful website and I'm going to be using it in the future.

10/2 Blog

In class today we discussed birthrates and immigration. With birthrates, obviously the population is growing. It is estimated that an average of 353,000 children are born per day. Every say four years, the world's popular will rise by about a billion people. As of right now, we have about seven billion people, with possibly being that in 2017 we will have added another billion.

Another discussion topic was immigration. Immigration is a big thing in some places. For example, in the United States people will hire foreigners because they are known to work harder than an average American. Most people will hire foreigners for lower class jobs that pay less that others wouldn't want to do themselves. This helps the economy and businesses, being that immigrants are in the United States with them supporting local businesses by buying their groceries and such. Whether they are illegal or not, this gives a big increase of the population.

10/1 Blog

Today in class we discussed some things like how in some countries people will live longer than someone living in another country. For example, someone in Monaco will lives a lot longer than somebody living in Chad. This is because of how the place is prospering. In Chad, Africa there is a lot of hunger and starvation. This is not as big a  problem in Monaco. This is the same for other places as well.
We also discussed how women and men have a different life expectancy. In this, women are statistically recorded to live longer than men. This is because men usually have harder jobs, and there are currently a lot more men in the military than women. Another reason that was explained was that women tend to go to the doctor the day or so after feeling ill. In mans cases, they will try and tough it out for a few months and then find out when they finally go to the doctor that it is too late and they are very sick which could have been prevented had they come in sooner.

9/30 Blog

In class today we discussed the pros and cons of globalization. Globalization is where something from one country, say a food industry, moves to another place and spreads over there. That is because of globalization.
Some pros of globalization are being that it gives countries all new things to one day try like say they don't have a McDonalds in China, and the only way to eat McDonalds is to travel a way just to have fast food. Globalization has gotten all the places around the world chains and ideas from other places in the world.
Some cons of globalization are that some people may not want the change and ideas from the United States or other places in Europe. They may not want a McDonalds or American clothing brands. Some people would prefer the way the have it currently over the way that they're going to be getting it due to globalization.

Nike blog

In class today we talked about how the sweatshops in Indonesia for Nike products is pretty much a living hell. The factory workers only get paid 1.25$ which is legal in Indonesia where they don't have any minimum wage laws. This amount of money can barely feed you throughout the day, and get you necessary supplies. We watched a video on where a college soccer coach had revolted against signing a three million dollar deal with Nike. Nike were going to sponsor their soccer team with Nike products. The man (Jim) did research on Nike and found out about the sweatshops all over the world, particularly in Indonesia. He was then determined to go to Indonesia and live on 1.25 a day and see what it was like. He hated it, and it was a horrible experience living on that much wage. He then tried to speak up about it to the Nike owner and he was ignored. This process of trying to make the sweatshops known and ending the low wages is still going on today.

In class we talked about how Muslims are not how some of us in America picture them. The video we had watched said things like "I'm Muslim, and I'm not a terrorist" or "I'm Muslim, and I'm not stopped at an airport". So the video was pretty much saying that we judge a group of Muslims who did the terrorist acts, and we tell ourselves that the whole Muslim race is bad, which they are not.

We also talked about how Atheism is growing more popular every year in America. It may even take over Christianity. Atheism is a belief that there is no God. This is unlike all religions, in which they worship a certain God(s). Atheism pretty much follows science and how science is proving that the world was made in the big bang or things like that. Who knows, soon Atheism may be the most popular belief in America.

Blog About Notes 9/22/15

These days, modern communication has played a huge role in cultural globalization with other countries. You can find news and articles and pretty much everything on the internet. People can see anything by easily typing in your search and hitting enter. The internet is an amazing thing. In any second, people can be informed about political news and natural disasters. 60% of the whole entire world can use cell phones. Someone in Europe can easily talk to someone in the United States.

Another thing that helps globalization is travel. Every year millions of people change countries looking for new work. Of course, this doesn't just apply to work. It can also apply to vacations or tourism. This exposes those people to other cultures.

Something else that has been a part of globalization is Popular Culture. Say someone in the United States enjoys listening to African music. That is because of Popular Culture globalization. This is also the same with food chains. You can find pretty much wherever you go, there will be a McDonalds nearby. You can also find many more American food chains, or clothing chains, or other stores throughout Europe.

Two more ways of globalization would be Politics and Economy. Economy because of international trade, and Politics because of things like computers. Computers can keep everyone informed about any countries current Political Debates, or Political News.

9/21 Blog

Today in class we talked about the Chinese McDonalds, wireless phones and stuff like that. I learned that America is expanding their food industry to others cultures like China for example. There are McDonalds in China, KFCs, and a load of other American food chains. Not only in China is this happening, places like Russia or Japan. Soon, the cultures will be shifted into a more American lifestyle, doing this on the go with fast food. We also talked about how technology has changed. In an example, wireless phones. Phones used to be plugged into a wall and you couldn't carry it with you. Now a days, we keep our phones in our pocket and we don't appreciate how cool that is. To think that we can call anybody in the entire world with a small item that we keep in our pocket is pretty fascinating. We don't just have that to be amazed at, there's stuff like computers and cars which we still don't appreciate enough.

Test Blog

Today was my first test of human geography. It was my first actual test of any subject. I thought the test went well, I knew most of the answers, and I probably got a high B. I studied for about half an hour for this test, and It was worth doing well. I finished the test in about twenty five minutes and felt good about most of my answers. I didn't have any major problems with any of the problems on the test, and that was great. I was glad when the test was over because I wouldn't have to worry about that test anymore. After human geo was over, I finished out the rest of the school day. I don't have another test or quiz for the rest of the week to my knowledge, so I don't really have to worry about any of that. I have a few tests next week, but I'll worry about that later.

Blog Socrates

Today in class we learned about the Greek philosopher named Socrates. He lived in Athens and was a very famous and well respected philosopher. He taught people to think for himself, which by teaching people this lead to his death. I learned about this Socratic Method which is a form of inquiry and discussion between individuals, based on asking and answering questions. This would make critical thinking happen. After Socrates taught for a while, he started teaching the youth about thinking for themselves in categories like religion. After teaching, Socrates was accused of 'corrupting the youth'. He was then put on trial and was sentenced to death by being voted too death by 500 people. They made Socrates kill himself by making him drink hemlock, a deadly poison. Socrates died, and his famous student, Plato, also made a name for himself. Plato became, like Socrates, a very famous philosopher. Plato learned everything from Socrates.

Blog

A message to Garcia was a pamphlet written by Elbert Hubbard in 1899. It was first published as a pamphlet, then into a book also written by Elbert Hubbard. It was also later made into a movie in 1936 by George Marshall. I also took notes on the fact that there used to be a mountain called Mount McKinley is the highest mountain in North America. Mount McKinley is located in Alaska. Over the last week, Mount McKinley was changed in name to its original name of Denali. There's was a huge debate and the was made official that Mount McKinley would be changed to Mount Denali. Denali comes from the Indians who had previously made it. Another thing I took notes on was the McKinley assassination. President McKinley was assassinated on 6th, 1901. A man named Leon Czolgosz. Czolgosz was an anarchist who did not like McKinley. McKinley was shot right before he was shaking Czolgosz hand. Those are most of the notes I took.

Five ways to make my John Carroll experience better would be something like joining a club. Another way to make it better could be making a lot of new friends. A third way could be to try another spot besides soccer. A fourth way could be to enjoy my classes and learn more by being focused. Finally, I could also help out at school. Those are five ways to make my John Carroll experience better.

Garcia Blog

 Words I'm Unfamiliar With:

Perihelion: The point in the orbit of a planet, asteroid, or comet at which it is closest to the sun.

Stenographer: Somebody skilled at or whose job involved writing shorthand and typing up reports from  shorthand copy.

I thought the essay was kind of confusing, but I thought Hubbard was saying to go out and find a good worker. Garcia was a good worker. He was explaining how to find Garcia in the essay.

First Day Of School Blog

My first day of school went pretty well. Luckily, I made it to every class on time which was surprising to me. Classes went fine and I found out what I needed to get for each class. I got to meet all of my teachers and explore the building. So far I'm enjoying my classes and looking forward to taking them and learning throughout the year. I was also told about how to use websites like Veracross. I found out Veracross is very helpful for me to find out homework and such. I'm really enjoying my free periods, I can go to the cafeteria and do homework and other work. After Tuesday, the rest of the week has been going smoothly, I've been getting to class on time and getting classwork done. In conclusion, I think my first week has gone pretty well and I'm looking forward to next week.
